30 years of post vasectomy pain

For thirty years I have had a dull pain in my left testicle. The pain started while the Dr. injected the left vas during my vasectomy The procedure was about as painful as I have ever had I have not had one day without pain since.

After almost six years of Dr visits to nearly a dozen physicians it became clear I was not going to get any help It became too exasperating to continue seeking medical care for the pain.

Web based vasectomy information sites including Urologist and family planning clinics such as Planned Parenthood almost never list long term post vasectomy pain as significant issue. I was not informed of any possible problems. But that was thirty years ago.

Finally I am not crusading against vasectomy however I have provided my history into a discussion about the upcoming vasectomy of one of our club members. Every member with a vasectomy and was near my age had some lingering discomfort, some nearly as long as my own. No one equated the discomfort as pain. Several had the nsv version and one has lingering discomfort three years now.. Four of nine had further contact with their physician on the issue but none felt the Dr. was concerned. And that is my conclusion. Its not a issue Drs want to treat.
