Pelvic floor exercises solved prolapse symptoms

by: Stacey on Fri, Jun 15 2007

I too had a bladder and uterine prolapse following the birth of my 3rd child. I am 36. I was in excellent shape and exercised through all of my pregnancies so I was shocked when this happened. I immediately told my doctor I wanted to see a physical therapist that deals strictly with the pelvic floor. I went to physical therapy for 2 months and now I have no symptoms whatsoever and I am 7 months postpartum. I exercise 6 days a week…..step aerobics/treadmill/lift weights and yoga. I purchased vaginal weight from my physical therapist and use this every other day for 15 minutes at a time.

Of course the prolapses are there and will never go away but I have no symptoms, no dragging, no bulging etc. Once I rebuilt strength again in that area with the weight and a regimen of kegels I wouldn’t even know I have a prolapse. I also make sure to eat raisin bran, plenty of granola and fiber every day to keep constipation away which is supposed to not only help with prolapse but you should be doing it for your colon health also. It is possible to become symptom free from prolapse. If your prolapse is unnoticable in the morning and comes on by the end of the day you more than likely have a stamina/strength problem which can be corrected with the right pelvic floor exercise program. It is tedious but I am proof it works.
