To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Incompetent Urologist My name is Marge. I am 67 years old and a diabetic treated with an oral hypoglycemic agent. I have vaginal thinning and dryness associated with diabetes and age. In August I developed a UTI(urinary tract infection). My main symptom was bright red bleeding with urination. I was terrified and went to a general practitioner who referred me to a urologist He was young rude, impatient, arrogant and later his treatment was incompetent. He did a Cystoscopy in his office and a Urine for Culture and Sensitivity. He told me in no uncertain terms that he was too busy and referred me to his female partner. I went home and took the Antibiotics that he ordered. These antibiotics did not touch the organism that caused the infection. I kept calling him (never called me back and he did not check the C&S report so essentially my UTI was left untreated. I complained to his office staff and to my general practitioner. Finally a month later I had another Cystoscopy done in his office by his partner. It was told to me by her that the organism was resistant to the antibiotic that he put me on and she put me on Bactrim. The infection cleared for a few months and returned. I went to the local ER and was treated with Bactrim . The infection cleared but it has returned again. This pain and suffering could have been prevented if only the Specialist took the time to read the C&S’s report and called me and put me on the right antibiotic. Hopefully the medication I am on will cure this. I am also going to another Urologist who comes highly recommended. I should have listened to my gut and gone to the ER when I first started the UTI and I should have run out of the Urologist’s office when he first started to complain about how busy he was. I’d like to see him lose his license to practice medicine for all of the pain and suffering he causes. Comments
