Living With SPina Bifida

Hi,
My name is Mary. I’m 45 years old, and was born with Spina Bifida. I’ve had incontinence issues my entire life, caused by the spina bifida. I had my right kidney removed when I was 9 years old, started intermittent catherization shortly afterward, and had an artificial sphincter implanted when I was 19. I’ve had the sphincter repaired twice, because of tears in the cuff, with the most recent one being a year ago next month. I just recently found out that I may now have a small hernia, that will have to be repaired mainly because of the artificial sphincter. If anyone else here has any experience with this, I’d love to hear your story. Thanks!
