Stress Incontinence - Surgery Success

by: Leigh on Fri, Jun 15 2007

Hello, I have been dealing with stress incontinence since I was in my mid-twenties. I am now 36. I was bad enough that I would live my life around this. If I wanted to take the dog for a walk, I would have to stop and think about putting a liner on. Same goes for playing ball with the kids, shopping, starting the lawn mower, going out with the girls…everthing I did.

I finally have had enough. I spoke with my GYN during a yearly inspection and decided to go for testing with an incontenence specialist in the office.

It was determined that my uretha moved all over the place and would not stablize at all. Neither the Kegel exercises or medicine would work for me. The solution surgery.

I had my surgery a week ago. My doctor used the sling procedure There are other medical terms that I don’t remember. Today, I went in for follow up. I am healing well, peeing slow and everything should work better in a few weeks. My doctor also told me he had to lift my bladder.

As of today, I have sneezed 3 times and no leaks. Perfect!
