Testosterone Deficiency

At my age, 68, and with hypertension I was somewhat skeptical when my doctor suggested a testerone [testosterone] test and supplementation.

I have so far had one injection of 200 (whatevers), since my level was down to 250, with 5 more scheduled every other week for a total of 6 injections. After 12 weeks I will have the bloodwork done again ($725 each time) to see if my liver and PSA are normal. Cancer is a real concern, here.

So far, the only thing I have noticed is increased energy to perform those little chores around the house I’ve been putting off. Saturday, I spent much of the day down in our crawl space, rebuilding the vent system for our clothes dryer. (100+ degrees outside.) That done, today I installed a new undercounter water filter system in the kitchen. I had dreaded doing these, for various reasons. It just felt like the time to do it.

I have complained to my doctor about ED for some time, now, blaming much of it on the Beta blockers I have been taking. He placed me on ACE Inhibitors, saying it should help. Well, it hasn’t. So, hoping the testerone [testosterone] would be the ticket, I have to report, that it hasn’t helped any. Yet. Since the test is only for 12 weeks, I wonder what it means if it does help, once this test is over.

The only side effect I’ve noticed is a sore butt. The nurse said she will alternate sides. LOL. That should help a lot. I’ll try to report back here when the test is over.

I bought this product like everyone else, after reading many articles from professional bodybuilders, describing it as a pro-testosterone wonder. The first time that I took a capsule was with a full bottle of water on an empty stomach. The promise was to feel a boost of energy within minutes, the only thing that I felt was dizziness cramps, and my body was shaking. [more..]
