Not so much fun in the Caribbean Sun.

I am an American international student living in Costa Rica. I ended up being stranded with no money and no place to stay in a town in Costa Rica.
I was with a girlfriend of mine and we both found a place to stay with an acquaintance of a friend. When we went to his home to sleep after a night of partying (I was very drunk and stoned) and while I was sleeping this man who we were staying with raped me during the middle of the night. I tried to push him off of me but he was far stronger. Finally I got him off me and left the house immediately.

Two weeks later I thought I had developed a yeast infection Soon it progressed to unbearable pain and I went to a local hospital and found out I had contracted an STD from this man called chancroid. I am now taking medication but it was one of the scariest things that has ever occurred to me in my entire life.

My only advice is to always be careful. Don’t have faith in strangers. Dont be like me. Now I am in unbearable pain and do not wish this upon anyone else.
