To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Smoking and Quitting let me start by saying I smoked for 33 years 2 packages per day rain or shine so to speak and it was very easy to quit but that quit had and has serious life threatening implications in other wards its just too late for me.I have time to live but that time is anyones guess . I suppose thats the way life is whether you smoke or not but I’m here to say that smokers just don’t get it . It will kill you faster infact much faster than everything combined and I don’t mean a few years faster I mean a few decades faster .That’s pretty much a guarantee with how todays cigarette is made compared to your parents or grandparents time. I want to give you the short of it I am not overweight and have always been active sports wise infact I was a hardcore athlete all of my life I lived for exercise so to keep it simple I had a heart attack in my midforties and 1 year later was diagnosed with COPD emphysema so that simply means my life is going to be difficult and much shorter I may not see age 60 and infact if things don’t improve I may not see 50 . I do everything as correctly as possible but it just doesn’t matter anymore .It helps but not overwhelmingly . The moral of my story is that if you smoked for more than a decade you “ARE” going to have trouble later in life it really is that simple. The sooner you quit the better the quality of life you will have and quitting 1000 times and failing is better than none and there is no reason to kick yourself or feel like a failure quitting is something you have to practice for me it took the heart attack to stop me but I’ve never had one since nor do I have an urge. I am happily married have 3 very young children and may not see any of them graduate . think about it . I made 33 years of excuses about smoking . Give quitting a try now everyone has the ability to stop I even have my last package of cigarettes from when I quit as a souvenier and have no urge .I convinced myself I would have a massive irreversible heart attack if I light one up and you know that’s probably still true .
