It started with a slight “twinge” when I urinated and was at its worst three days before Christmas. On that day, I had pain in my kidneys and had to go to a walk-in medical facility. The doctor there performed a urine culture and found micro-scopic blood in the urine. He thought I might have kidney stones and prescribed anti-biotics and pain killers and told me to keep my appointment with the Uriologist. Since then I have been to the uriologist numerous times and have had several tests performed. Cysto, renal ultrasound, prostate exam (twice) and bladder scan. All tests have been normal. To the best of my knowledge, even the urine cultures are now normal. I’m even scared to have sex because in the past even that, on occassion, has hurt. The office visit before my Cystoscopy the doctor told me that if everything was normal, then I probabaly have a Prostatitis When I had the test a few weeks later, and everything was normal, he told me I probably have a “highly concentrated urine stream” and just need to drink more water. I think the guy does not have a clue. I took the anti-biotic Bactrim twice a day for two months and the pain when urinating has not gone away. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is this a prostatitis?? Comments
