The doctor prescribes CIPRO for two weeks, regardless if there is an infection. Truthfully, I can not tell if CIPRO is effective or not. In my situation, I never have urinary problems. My urine stream is strong and for the most part normal. My BIG COMPLAINT is the extreme pelvic pain I experience in the pelvic area and around the prostate, which is usually inflamed. This condition last about two to three weeks and the most uncomfortable side effect is my bowels seem to be restricted and I can not have a normal bowel movement. My stools are reduced to pencil thin segments or raisin like droplets. So I have a double barrel pain, the inflamed prostate and blocked bowels. I take hot sits baths and self administer warm enemas. The quality of my life during this two to three week period is dimenished considerably. I am irritable, constipated, and generally feel like I’d rather die than endure the pain. The pain feels as if a soft ball has developed in my rectum and can not get out. OUCH!……….I Comments
