Since the accident that ruined my back, I have not been taken seriously by the doctor that I have increased visits to the ladies’ room. My family doctor put me on Detrol, but my Blood Pressure skyrocketed, so I stopped taking it immediatley, as well because it did not work. When I was going every 10 minutes, having to leave meetings, and the restroom was quite a walk for someone going so often, yet still feeling like I had to go. Like a urinary tract infection but no pain. Finally, I was referred to to a urologist who ended up testing me for a UTI which was negative, then I did a voiding diary, which calcualted that I was putting out more that I was taking in, then he inserting a camera up into my bladder and all he saw was “congestion”. He did send me for biofeedback, and the muscle strength was good, but she told me that I should stay on the toilet for a moment, to be sure that I empty my bladder completely. Since then, the symptoms have gotten worse. I see the commercials for enlarged prostates, and (except for that I am a female), they are my symptoms. It has gotten even worse, if I drink water, I just go more often, but not more volume. The worst part is, aside from feeling like I have to urinate all the time, is that I try to empty completely, but sometimes I have to concentrate so hard on just getting the flow to start, and just 1 interruption, like my husband walking by, or the dogs coming in and trying to kiss me, will make me have to start all over again. Because I wake several times in the night, I have even fallen asleep on the toilet, which has made my legs fall asleep; I have even spent an hour just trying to get started. I can’t even write this without having to get up and go. I believe that has even lost me my last job. An 8 hour day, I spend probably 2 hours just going to the restroom, (if it isn’t too far) and I don’t even take a lunch. Someone please help me? August 2008
