To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download The Stone Maker I experienced my first stone when I was 27. 10mm stone and the pain put me in the hospital for a week before they removed it. Since then I have had @ 10 lithrotripsies and 4 major surgeries( to remove staghorns - stones that are too large to remove thru non surgical methods) One Dr. described me as having Stone Cancer. I’ve had every test done to analyze my stone and they are nothing special, just calcium. I don’t really have much pain anymore and can pass a fairly large stone with ease. Currently my left kidney is clear but my right is full of stones. Last year at 42 I had a baby in between surgeries. It’s all a bit surieal and a little disconcerting but my Dr.’s don’t seem to think there is any immediate danger to my life. Just a little discomfort from time to time. I have tried to change my diet and of course drink toooons of water (i’ve cut out all soda’s but have my morning coffee) but my Drs don’t think that diet is really going to make a difference for me. There is something I lack that helps break down the minerals in my kidneys and until they find out what that is or how to treat it (besides the potassium citrate and HTZ I take) I guess I will go on living with stones.
