To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download KIDNEY STONES I just had my first experience with kidney stones Fri dec., 12, I got severe pains in my lower left side, then started vomiting so I went to the emergency room. I was there for 8 hrs, they did a cat scan and showed that I had 3 6centimeter stones. One was in the uretha which had caused my urine to back up and cause infection. So they admitted me to the hospital, put a stint in the next morning. I was still in pain even with them giving me morphine so they sent me for the xrays with the dye. The xrays showed the kidney stones were no longer there but I was still in pain. They removed the stint (sunday) sent me home. Sunday night still had severe pain and vomiting. Went to a different emergency room. They gave me morphine for pain ,kept me there did a few x-rays , ultrasounds and referred me to a urologist in 2 days. I was so frustrated that no one could help me. I went to the urologist they basically told me the sam thing the emergency room had said but I refused to take that answer so they sent me for another ct scan. The scan showed 3 stones the same size except the one stone had moved into my bladder. They said I had two choices I could live with the kidney stones or have them removed. So I am having surgery monday but they scared me to death because they said there are risks to the bladder. Has anyone had this surgery and should I be afraid to have this or live with the kidney stones? Comments
