To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download update to round 4 with stones On 9/3/08 I underwent a uteroscopy at Johns Hopkins with my new Urologist and everything went great. Thank God for the confident, caring and compassionate staff. Everyone was great from the front desk to the nurses to the doctor.Everyone there treated me with respect and empathy. This was a welcome change from the previous poor treatment I received from the local uro. ofc. had been going to. The procedure is not without pain, but it is a small price to pay to have my life back. They were able to remove the 4 large stones and several smaller ones and placed a stent. The stent itself is uncomfortable, but if I take the pain medication and anti-inflammatory it is bearable. The spasms during urination are the worst, but I know they are coming and I just try and relax through them. I will have the stent for 5 days and from there they will do metabolic studies to see why I form the stones and come up with a medication and diet plan to keep them at bay. It is not over for me and I know at some point the stones will be back, but the fact that I have found quality health care and a caring intelligent physician, I am confident that all will be okay. If any of those that read this site are within driving distance to Hopkin’s go see Dr. Matlaga he is wonderful and worth the time. I am an RN myself and was impressed with all those on my case there are not enough words to express my graditude and thanks. Comments
