Surgery successful

During the month of March and part of this month, I dealing with the aftermath of my surgeries for kidney stones I had an 8.7 mm stone stuck in my left ureter. The doctor successfully removed half of the stone. But the other half shot back up my ureter because the nurse administered to much water during the procedure. I already had a 4 mm stone inside my left kidney. After my doctor told me he wouldn’t have to use a stent, he was forced to use one anyway since the other stone shot back up.

Two weeks later, I had to have Shock Wave Lithotripsy done to crush the remaining stones. 3 weeks later during the UCLA final four game (go Bruins!), I passed the final stone out.

I had to go through so much like all of you. KUB’s, blood tests, surgeries, having to wear a cathater. Never before in my life, have I’ve been challenged like this. Thanks to God, my family, my doctor (the infamous, genius Franklin Chu, M.D.) my kung fu martial arts breathing and sheer determination, I I managed to get through this.

On the day of my first surgery (a little over a month ago now), I’ve committed to a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully I will never have to deal with this again. I wish you all the best and whoever is dealing with this, hang in there.
