To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Long Time Stone Maker Holy Lord! I have been passing kidney stones since I was 18 years old (I’m 46). I have been told basically not to eat everything! Everything in this world that a person eats contributes to making stones. Eating red meats and protein causes uric acid stones, eating dairy products causes calcium stones. I’ve given up on the “what can I eat now” way of life. Most of the time I have passed the stones with the help of my local emergency room and about 3 rounds of morphine. However, I have had two surgeries to remove larger stones that just wouldn’t pass. The surgery is a relief, but then there’s the pain afterward from the surgery. It’s a no win situation. I’m currently carrying a 6cm calcium stone that the doctor was unsuccessful removing with surgery. Now I have to have the stone blasted away using sonic-waves, then afterwards the small pieces will (hopefully) pass through on there own…….with little pain. No physician in my area (Chicagoland) can give me any comforting words others then, “It will probably happen again and again.” YIKES! Comments
