To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download kidney stones I started having urgency feelings and lack of urine in Feb. On our way to Punta Cana, I experienced blood in my urine in the airport bathroom. When we got to our resort, I was relieved to find out that there was a pharmacy there and you could buy antibiotics without seeing a doctor. I started having discomfort in my left flank area as I purchased the Cipro. I took it for 3 days and everything felt fine. When we returned to the states, I called my internist and reported what had happened and she said as long as everything cleared up, I should be ok. Five days later I started with the urgency feeling again and called the dr. and was told to go to the lab and give an urine specimen. This showed microscopic blood and protein. She put me on Sulfa for 3days and told me to get another urine test done in five days. Still blood showed up. I asked her for a CT which she ok’d and it showed I had a 5cm stone in my left kidney. The next day I started with more bladder spasms and then pain on my right flank. I went to the ER and had another CT and this one showed I has a stone on the right side, also. The reason this didn’t show up on the first CT was that they only did an abdominal scan and should have also ordered a pelvic scan. This stone was lower and ultimately the one I’ve been battling for 5 days. I was told to take Flomax and strain my urine. No stone yet! I am also on Levaquin. I have a KUB ordered for next Thursday and I suppose I’ll be hearing from the urolgist as to what the game plan will be. Can anyone out there give me any hope that I will pass this soon? I was hoping to have an Easter stone. Comments
