Living with Kidney Cancer

One day I decided to go to the emR., to be treated for a bad cough.While there the doc. said he wanted to xray my lungs.he released me and told me everything was fine other than a cold.but about 3 days later I felt worse and went to my family doc.He sent for my xray and discovered a white line about 1 inch long and as thin as a pencil line, in the liner of my left lung.He sent me to a lung specialist who told me he could go in thru my back and take a biopsy or I could just go get a petscan.I elected to take the petscan.With no hospitalization and 1 year to recieving medicare,I had to pay $4400.

While I was taking the scan, the doc.asked me if I would donate extra time for him to scan my whole body so that he could make a portfolio of petscan pictures of the human body. I told him,yes I would do that.After the scan,he came to me and gave me an envelope of exrays and told me to go back to my doc.I refused untill he told me what that white line was. He told me it was nothing and that it was not hot,(whatever that ment)and asked if I wanted to see the pictures. I said yes.He then show me the scan,and what he found on my lung,also explaining what HOT ment,and that gave me a sign of relief.But then pointed to my right kiney and told me he was concerned.My kidney was the size of a football and was pushing into my liver.

Well,that just scared the hell out of me.I never had any symtoms of blood in my urin or any pain at all.He couldn`t tell me if it was cancer but he said that he would bet his job that it was.I then went to a uncologist and he told me the same thing and was surprised that I didn`t have any symptoms.He told me that my kidney had to come out NOW.With no pain and no symtoms I was a little sceptic so he assured me that if my kidney burst,I would die befor they could save me.So away I went to be operated on.I was released less then 10 hours after the operation.It was clearcell cancer,and I was told that they got it all.

It has been 2 years and 5 months and I have taken 2 scans since then. Nothing has returned.I try not to think about that deadly word, CANCER,but its hard.Then I think back and realize, that GOD gave to me the miracle of life.I ask myself every day,Why did that petscan doc.ask me to donate my time for more scans? Why did he not ask some other person that was there in is waiting room? I would have surely died if this CANCER was not discovered.This was not just a lucky day for me,but instead,A MIRACLE FROM GOD.
