I am a 62 year old female - have had this problem since my 20’s. I’ve gone from urologist to urologist - so far the best advice has been to use baking soda 1/8 tsp with liquid at onset of burning and drink drink drink. I use pyridium - a prescription *red pill which takes away some of the abdominal pressure. PLUS - a heating pad folded between my legs up against the vagina area. I also use a cream estrace which is a hormonal cream - this syndrome seems to have something to do with vaginal dryness.
I go for periods of time clear and then have many weeks of the problem. I do have frequest urinary infections with it and the urologist cannot figure that out. For over 2 months I’ve been on antibiotics and even a maintanence dose doesn’t seem to stop it. It seems to hit me when I am stressed or anxious. My body gives me hints - tired and sore legs, cramping.
It literally puts me ‘down’ for atleast a day.
