Don’t Give Up

I am 58 yr old mother of two. I have had IC my entire life. Yes, it is frustrating, misunderstood, misdiagnosed and just plain painful. The best advice I can give anyone is too reduce use of refined sugar. I truly believe it is a major problem, which increases pain with IC. I could write a book on IC and may do this someday. DO NOT GIVE UP!!

Let your doctor(s) know you mean business. You need strong pain meds to be able to live a halfway normal life. I know first-hand. I’m not one to take meds, but by golly we people who suffer with this awful condition deserve serious treatment options. If more medical people had this disease there would be more compassion. I have been through it all and trust me…you are not crazy!

Be firm with your physicians and tell them YOU MATTER. The quality of your life is important. Insist they need to do a Cysto to really look into your bladder..that will cinch it for you. If they don’t listen, then find a doctor who will, because they are out there. Lastly, don’t give up. Diet is so important in treating this. Give up white sugar/sodas..trust me…it does help. I am praying for any/all who suffer like I have had to. My prayers go out to you. You do matter.
