A life with IC

I am 19 years old and on January 8th I was dignosised with having IC. I have suffered with the symtoms for the past 4 years before I knew that it was IC I’ve tried using Elmiron but it did nothing for me. I still felt like I had to pee all the time but couldn’t go. I would go and sit on the toilet 3 times with in an hour but wouldn’t be able to go and it would hurt. Recently my urologist put me on this medication called Sanctura XR. It has taking away the urgency to have to pee all the time. Now when I feel like I have to pee I actually have to pee. I still go alot in a day though. The only problem with this medication is that it does make you constipated so I still have the stress of going to the bathroom. It still is painful everytime I do go to the bathroom. Having IC is very depressing. I try to just live life and not let having this disease bother me but everytime I get hope the pain worsens and brings me back down. I dont let that get the best of me though; I plan on fighting this so I can have a happy life because my life is just beginning.
