To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download 22 Year old Female It’s only recently that my experience of Female Sexual Arousal Disorder has become to be a problem for me. I am 22 years old and a student, and do not get aroused physically in any way. Since I moved away from home and began university I’ve suddenly become painfully aware of my physical ’shortcomings’. It stops me from getting emotionally close to people that I like, and it’s an incredibly isolating situation to experience. This is what has pushed me to go ahead and see if I can get something done about it, rather than pretend that it doesn’t bother me. I previously had my hormone levels tested when I was 18, which came back as normal, and since then have not been in contact with anybody about it. I have spent a long time searching on the internet for any kind of information or ‘reasons’ to help me, and have found it incredibly frustrating that there is such an incredible lack of resources, plus the resources are generally aimed at post-menopausal women. I recognise that my condition is probably incredibly rare in women of my age, but it does help to be aware that you are NOT THE ONLY PERSON going through this. It’s so emotionally draining having something like this on your shoulders, when everyone just expects you to be ‘normal’. But anyway, I’m going to the sexual health walk-in centre next week, so at least that’s a step in the right direction. Wish me luck! Comments
