Living with Erectile Dysfunction

On Oct. 29, 2008 I suffered a penile fracture while having intercourse with my girlfriend. I ended up putting a hole in my urethra and left corporal body at the base of my penis which were repaired the following morning. I’ve seen the surgeon 5 times in 3 weeks and every visit he would ask “have you had an erection yet?” My answer was no. I just had the catheter taken out of my penis 5 days ago and still have stitches all the way around my circumcision line that are dissolving daily but are still painful at times. The surgeon/urologist gave me the green light 5 days ago to see if I could obtain an erection through any sexual activity with my girlfriend or through masturbation. I/we’ve tried roughly 5 times and the best I’m getting is an orgasm and my penis swelling to about half of its normal size prior to the injury. I’m beginning to really get worried that it is not coming back and badly damaged…that is the mechanism that causes erections or at least the left corporal body. IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME WITH ADVICE, KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE IN THIS SITUATION, I WOULD BE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL! THANKS-JEFF
