As a 26 year old Brit I damaged the frenulum (the tendon on the underside of the ‘head’) I let it heal but went to see the doctor. We discussed various options and decided to go for a full circumcision I was a little concerned (being terrified of needles mainly!) but was delighted when a general anaesthetic was cited as the solution. I went in to the hospital at 8 am and by 10am I was on my way home. The stitches were self dissolving, the surgeons injected a large amount of anaesthetic around the penis which lasted for around a week. I honestly can say i had no problems at all. Although the skin was fully retractable prior to the op I can say that I have not experienced any de-sensitisation, there has been no dryness or any drawbacks (pardon the pun) my partner prefers it also. In terms of my own personal experience- i think it feels great. There is definately a situation where we all want what we do not have- cut guys want to be uncut and vice-versa and it is a difficult decision for parents to make. Most men in the UK are uncut though in London and Knightsbridge it is more commonplace. A couple of my friends do have tight foreskins- and are scared senseless of the operation- It is hard to know what to do as a parent; should you check your child’s penis for retract-ability? the doctors don’t seem to do this. At least that leaves the decision to the child for later life. But then most men will not bother. Book the operation for your child and then the child will wonder what it was like ‘au natural’ Personally- I would have liked mine done as a child. Comments
