To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living with BPH My problems started at age 41. I am now 73. I went to many urologists and they all wanted to do something to me. One wanted to castrate me others wanted to remove it. I kept taking differn’t food suppliments and prescription medicine to stave off surgery. I went until I was 67 before I had my 1st TURP which was a PVP greenlaser type. The effficacy started to fade after 60 days. 5 years later I found out the laser procedure had left me with a huge amount of scar tissue in the prostate and catherazation was next to impossible because of no clear path to the bladder. I underwent another TURP of the conventional type. Afterwards the Urologist advised me that he couldn’t do a good job because of the time frame with the chemical used to flush away the refuse. The efficacy faded away after 30 days and I returned for a follow up. I was told to go home. There isn’t much we can do for you at this point because of the scar tissue and the risks of radical prostectomy. If you really have to resort to surgery I reccomend staying with the conventional TURP. Now I am a mess that no one wants to deal with. Comments
